Precious enamels of this kind cannot be made by machinery. The colors are a form of glass, fused on metal at high temperature. Well-made pieces will keep their brilliance for more than a thousand years…as ancient enamels in museums prove. Because enamels are practically everlasting, they are an excellent medium for enduring design ideas and are worthy of being used as meaningful gifts for very special occasions. Each pendant has been created to represent human experiences…be they conscious or subconscious. The symbol ‘I Ching’ represents our attempt to predict the future. The ‘Owl’ symbolizes wisdom. The ‘Om’ is the Hindu symbol which represents the change in the universe.

I use the Champlevé enameling technique, which was very popular in Limonges, France during the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, and is rarely employed today. The name means "raised field", Champlevé is distinguished from the technique of cloisonné enamel in which the troughs are created by soldering flat metal strips to the surface of the object. All pieces are handcrafted with a jeweler’s saw from fine silver.
